I have had 5 dogs during my adulthood which means that I have had many veterinary visits with many different veterinarians in multiple cities in the US providing me a broad base of experience from which I can confidently judge a “vet experience”.
I have seen the practice of veterinary medicine change from a very personalized approach to a big business model. As I see it, the vet industry has therefore not escaped the influence of big business (= make money) ie., focusing on prescribing drugs and procedures as opposed to getting to the root cause and healing the animal.
Now, as the more experienced vets retire and the new generation comes in, I see this business approach contaminating the practice of vet medicine, making me more and more hesitant to call the vet when an occurrence happens with one of my dogs. (Notwithstanding the fact that I continue to do annual “wellness” visits with my local vet who does annual blood work, required vaccines, etc.)
In my opinion the model of vet practice (tele-medicine) offered by veteran veterinarian, Dr. Nespor, is the best most competent, trusted vet option that I have. Granted there are emergency situations requiring the tools of a vet hospital, but for almost all situations for my dogs’ lifespan, I have been able to successfully use Dr. Nespor’s. approach.
To do his full consultations, Dr. Nespor requires recent labs and vet records and will do a full evaluation (which includes the guardian’s relationship with the pet, as I have learned is a key component to the pet’s healing!). Dr. Nespor offers consultations using a range of Western and Eastern medicine modalities focusing his recommendations on both emergency remedies and long-term healing.
I have used Dr. Nespor’s telemedicine services for both emergency situations and chronic issues and have had successful outcomes in both situations.
I highly recommend to anyone that you try out one of Dr. Nespor’s telemedicine packages and add it to your own animal health tool kit. It gives me great peace of mind to know that I can call a vet who KNOWS my animal (and me for that matter)!
