Discover your animal’s blueprint and learn how to support its nature and well-being.
Animals are in our lives for a reason. They are here to connect with us, to mirror us, to guide us, or to bring us closer to our own truth. The fundament of Animal Design is that each animal is different and unique. They each have their own nature, their Animal Design, their own innate qualities, needs and sensitivities.
As the founder of this system, Ra Uru Hu stated: “When the Design of an animal is respected and honored, the animal experiences fulfillment of its own nature.”
Animal Body Graph
The Animal Body Graph visually represents the animal's individual design. To create the correct Animal Bodygraph of your animal, the date, time, and place of the animal’s birth is needed.

Animal Design is a system that shows the energetic nature of an animal, explained and laid out in a logical way. It’s not based on assumptions, possibilities, or beliefs, but on the practical energetic structure and functioning of the animal’s nature that it carries since birth. An Animal Design Analysis is a great tool to know and understand your animal’s nature and sensitivities better.
The Animal Design system was introduced in 1987 by Ra Uru Hu. He received not only information about Human Design, but also about the Mammalian Matrix. This body of knowledge of Mammalian Design is the same as what we call Animal Design.
Where Human Design is about awareness, making choices, and free (or not free) will, Animal Design is about instinct, survival, and natural reaction patterns of animals. Besides that, Animal Science focuses on differentiation, viewing each animal as an individual in how it relates to its environment. Its foundation is that each animal is different.
Each animal has its blueprint that determines how it functions energetically. The same as in humans, not each animal learns or reacts the same way, and has the same needs, sensitivities, or qualities.
Animal Design shows what’s fixed — and not changeable — in the animal’s nature and where it is open for outside influences, easily influenced by its environment, people, other animals, or situations. Knowing your animal's design helps animal owners recognize and support their animal’s health, as well as improve the bond between the animal and its owner. The Animal’s Design is determined at birth, at the time and place of the animal’s birth.
Rather than attempting to change an animal’s nature, the goal of this approach is to recognize and work with the animal’s inherent qualities, supporting a healthy and happy pet.
Animal Design is different from Human Design. Humans look for their purpose in life and want to know who they are. Animals are intuitive and instinctive and have a more natural energy not disturbed by thoughts and emotions. They live completely in the now, they react to their surroundings, act based on their bodies and instinct and do not have an inner authority and strategy.
Animals are, more or less dependent on their design, mirrors of their surroundings. They sense tension, unrest, imbalances around them, and their bodies can react to this. Oftentimes, problems in behavior can be a reflection of what’s happening around them, in a family, a house, or in a person.
Animal Design can therefore help us understand why an animal reacts a certain way, or why it shows nervous or fearful behavior, or why it shows certain repeated behavior despite training.
Each animal is unique, and depending on the animal’s Design activations we can see different qualities. Does it have specific qualities to survive, or to be of value in the pack, to lead, or to bond?
Or your animal can have a strong need for routine. To give him daily routines in feeding, walking and sleeping makes him more content. Or some animals naturally respond well to training, where other pets don’t. Or they are designed to go through a longer trial-and-error process. Or some animals can be more fierce than others, which is a natural expression of their integrity. Or some animals need more freedom than others.
In short: Knowing your animal supports its well-being and the balance between you and your animal. It can give more trust and peace to both the owner and the animal. Simple changes to facilitate the animal’s nature can make a big impact on its wellness. Sometimes just the improved understanding and perspective of your animal helps already, without changing anything else!
Knowing your animal better can support its well-being and the balance between you and your animal. It can give more trust and peace to both owner and animal. With animals we all know that it's pretty hard at times to determine, to “sense” what it needs or wants, isn’t it? What is it that your dog or cat or horse thinks or needs? Even when you try to do the best, you still observe a certain behavior, or unhappiness. Oftentimes, health or behavioral challenges arise not from disobedience or poor training, but simply from misunderstanding an animal’s natural tendencies. When pet owners know and understand the basics of how their animal is naturally designed to interact with the world, they can make better decisions regarding their health and well-being.

Carmen Peeters, Human Design Analyst & Animal Design Analyst
As a lifelong animal lover and Human Design Analyst of over 15 years, and through many years of shared life and conversation with her veterinarian husband, she developed a deep interest in understanding animals on a deeper level. About eight years ago, she began exploring Animal Design.
Using this system, she started supporting her husband and his clients in better understanding their animals. By helping align each animal with its natural design, they observed improvements in well-being, healing, and the relationship between pet and owner. In some cases, even simple awareness led to meaningful positive changes.
It is inspiring to recognize that animals, like people, each have their own unique personality and qualities. When they are respected for who they are, it fosters a sense of fulfillment - benefiting both the animal and the person who cares for them.
